Professor Jonathan A. Parker will make a presentation of the main findings of two recent papers on:
- “Household Portfolios and Retirement Saving over the Life Cycle”
- “Retail Financial Innovation and Stock Market Dynamics: The Case of Target Date Funds”
In these papers, Professor Parker and his co-authors analysed:
- The evolution in the share of investable wealth held in equities by middle-class investors in the United States, in recent years and during their working lives
- The evolution of retirement contribution rates over the life-cycle
- The impact of the development and regulation of target date funds (TDFs) on portfolio behaviour
- The rebalancing strategies of TDFs between stocks and bonds and its impact on the prices of stocks
