What is the added value of the European Long-Term Investment Fund (ELTIF) and how does it serve the objectives of the CMU? Does the draft proposal of the European Commission address the key obstacles that have prevented ELTIF from being a successful product since its launch in 2015? Is the proposal striking the right balance between flexible product rules and investor protection? These are some of the critical questions we will address during our virtual event.
The discussions with high-level speakers from the European Commission, European Parliament, Council Presidency, national supervisors and key industry representatives will consider the proposed amendments for a revised ELTIF framework and provide unique insights into the role that ELTIF – if well calibrated – can play for investors and the real economy.
Following an introductory address by the European Commission, a practical case study will showcase an ELTIF’s successful launch. Two panels will explore the European Commission’s amendments around the relaxation of the ELTIF product rules, as well as the changes proposed to increase investor demand, including barriers to retail investors' participation and redemption policies.
