EFAMA, BETTER FINANCE and the European Youth Parliament jointly organised a webinar focusing on investor education, as part of the Global Money Week 2023, which stresses the importance of financial education and well-being, particularly for the youth.
Leading experts and policymakers discussed the concerns of the younger generation, as well as whether there is a need for specific initiatives given the current macroeconomic environment.
Speakers included MEPs Stéphanie Yon-Courtin and Isabel Benjumea, leading global academic Annamaria Lusardi, OECD senior policy analyst Chiara Monticone and Tatyana Panova, head of unit of DG FISMA at the European Commission. Ben Granjé (CEO of the Flemish investor association & member of ESMA’s Securities and Markets Stakeholders Group) moderated a lively and vibrant panel discussion with Kevin Boland, Kevin Van Hevel and Malgorzata Kupiec from the European Youth Parliament.
