Brussels – EFAMA has today published its latest monthly Investment Fund Industry Fact Sheet, which provides net sales data on UCITS and AIFs for May 2022, at European level and by country of fund domiciliation.
Bernard Delbecque, Senior Director for Economics and Research at EFAMA, commented: “UCITS bond funds recorded a fifth straight month of net outflows in May amid rising inflation and anticipation of a severe tightening of monetary policy.”
The main developments in May 2022 can be summarised as follows:
- Net sales of UCITS and AIFs registered net outflows of EUR 36 billion, compared to net outflows of EUR 3 billion in April.
- UCITS recorded net outflows of EUR 33 billion, compared to net outflows of EUR 0.3 billion in April.
- Long-term UCITS (UCITS excluding money market funds) registered net outflows of EUR 22 billion, compared to net outflows of EUR 2 billion in April.
- Equity funds recorded net outflows of EUR 3 billion, compared to net inflows of EUR 3 billion in April.
- Bond funds registered net outflows of EUR 17 billion, compared to net outflows of EUR 12 billion in April.
- Multi-asset funds recorded net outflows of EUR 4 billion, compared to net inflows of EUR 5 billion in April.
- UCITS money market funds recorded net outflows of EUR 11 billion, compared to net inflows of EUR 2 billion in April.
- Long-term UCITS (UCITS excluding money market funds) registered net outflows of EUR 22 billion, compared to net outflows of EUR 2 billion in April.
- AIFs registered net outflows of EUR 2.9 billion, compared to net outflows of EUR 3 billion in April.
- Total net assets of UCITS and AIFs decreased by 1.9% in May to EUR 20,232 billion.
